Skylights – types and application

Skylights due to its location must satisfy specific conditions in terms of quality and convenience of use.

Among the roof windows can distinguish essentially three types:

  • Pivot windows
  • Tilt-swivel windows
  • Roof hatchways windows (used in attics utility as technical doors to the roof)

Tilt-and-swivel windows

They have the advantage over the windows rotation that they can swivel, as in the case of a normal vertical window. They can be used at angles of from 20 to 55 degrees. We talk about them, they are the windows with double opening system.

The tilt-and-swivel windows usually come with a handle at the top. It may be integrated with the ventilation unit.

Roof hatchways windows

They are used as technical outputs to the roof. They have a ventilation flap equipped with an air filter. They are equipped with a gas spring that allows the opening. A variation of roof hatchways windows are windows that allows them to escape quickly opened with a lever.
